Portland home with a bright new décor

This is the home of Vichi Simon who lives in Portland, Oregon. The house recently got a remodel. It was a beautiful home but it was starting to feel old and outdates so the owner felt it was time for a change. The whole house was renovated and it got a modern new look and a brighter interior. Not only that, but eco-friendly materials were preferred instead of synthetic surfaces.

After the renovation, the house is a lot more airy and it even seems more spacious. Some internal changes were also made. For example, what is now an open kitchen is a combination of the old kitchen and the front porch. Among other significant changes the ones that are the easiest to spot are those related to color. The color palette was changed. The owner opted this time for bright white combined with neutral tones of brown and earthy colors. These, in combination with the natural wood found in the furniture, result in a very chic and elegant combination.

The house is warm and inviting but it’s also stylish. It took the owner 10 months to complete the renovation and the cost of the project was $60K. The main concern was the kitchen. It needed to be opened up. For that and for everything else that needed to be done the carpenters used salvaged materials from the house and from other local sources. As for the furniture, most of it includes antique pieces and salvaged items.{found on designesponge}.
