Polka-dots are whimsical, fun, feminine and downright precious. They can be dressed up, dressed down, perfect for a party, bridal show, afternoon brunch, summer lunch or a cozy family dinner. Maybe you want something a bit more elegant and less youthful. Try adding polka-dots with a bit of subtly. Use neutral colors and sheer fabrics for overlays. Use bigger dots instead of an insane amount of small circles and choose only one or two places to have them displayed.

Have a focal point. Make your table completely monochromatic, then choose a plate, a glass or a napkin that adds a pop of color and polka-dot print. If you want something incredibly sophisticated and elegant … but not boring … try out black and white polka-dots. For a day or night table, they work well and create texture to a sleek scape.

Use plates lined with a polka-dot rim. Use a burlap table runner that you’ve adding big, white polka-dots too for a rustic charm. Use a centerpiece bowl that’s covered in polka dots. Use saucers that have multi-color polka-dots. There are so many ways to add polka-dots to your place setting that it’s impossible to fail at putting something adorable together for yourself or your meal guests.
