This is the Ikea Kura bed or at least it was until it got transformed into something a little more fun. First, the bed itself got some improvements. For example, the panels were painted with chalkboard paint and the wood frame with semi-gloss white paint. It’s a simple and creative way of spicing up the décor and making it more suitable for children. The bed was then placed on a plywood platform that sits on three Ikea Trofast frames. There’s also additional support provided by 2×6 wood screwed into the wall studs.

The slide is not something you can buy. You need to build it yourself. You could use a slide from another structure is you have one you don’t use anymore but this situation is rare. To build the slide you can use 2 sanded 2x4s, an 18 inch wide scrap of plywood left over and an 18 inch wide piece from a dry erase board. At least these are the materials sued for this particular project. You can always improvise as long as you know what you’re doing. There’s also a platform at the top of the slide. It’s a very fun project that will surely make your kid very happy.{found on buildsewreap}.
