Heritage Pedestal Table

People have always used the natural materials around them and found out that one of the most resistant materials they could use as a base for outdoors tables or for weaving outdoor chairs is called rattan. this material is very flexible and you can “weave” it into the wanted shape. Besides, it does not deteriorate in time and is perfect for both outdoors and indoors. Any way, things always evolve, so many asked themselves what could be the next step after replacing rattan? And the answer came on the spot in the modern times: stainless steel, of course. This Heritage Pedestal Table is the proof and it is even considered “an upgrade ” of rattan table.

This product comes from McGuire Furniture and is amazing. It looks great and modern, shiny and very cool. It uses polished nickel posts that imitate the look of rattan and which are linked together with the help of some leather rings instead of simply being welded together. The lower and upper bases are round and the table top is made of transparent glass, allowing you to see through it and admire the intricate funny pattern made of the nickel sticks and the leather. The table can be purchased now for about $2.295 if you want it in polished nickel, but you should know the table top if purchased separately.

Reata Drinks Server

Normally people have the least amount of furniture they can around the house because the space is already too small, so you do not want to keep it busy with useless things. However, sometimes you do need some special pieces of furniture and this is the only time you think about them and about how useful it would have been to have them from the beginning. I am talking about all these family meetings and parties when many people gather and feel fine together and where you have to serve food and drinks. Of course food is served on the table but drinks are better not be placed in the same way but rather on a special drinks server like this Reata Drinks Server.

This is not just a drink server, but it is a work of art , something that is at the same time a beautiful home accessory. It is big enough to store all the drinks from a party and it has three gray glass shelves that allow you to separate drinks on categories. The drinks server is beautifully decorated with climbing vines that are so delicately and artistically shaped as real vine leaves, that you can’t help admiring them. It is perfect for glasses, bottles and all other kinds of servings. It is made of steel and glass and the designer, Laura Kirar, succeeded making it really special. You can have it from the local representative  of Baker Furniture.

Barcelona’s Hotel Ayre

For the most important architects, buildings aren’t just some places for people to live, they are a matter of art and, why not, vanity. Hotel Ayre is the product of some ambitious architects which claim their tradition from the art of Gaudí. The building is located in Barcelona, Spain, one of the cities with the most astonishing buildings, based on all kinds of experimental architectures for their time.

Relating to the art of Antoni Gaudí, the Hotel Ayre’s architects used a particular modernist style influenced by surrealism, with colorful ornaments reflecting organic elements taken out of nature. As a contemporary way of integrating the animated colors of nature, they attached fine stripes of LED-lightning elements edgeways to the window panes. Thanks to the computerized coordination of the LED´s, it´s even possible to reproduce a sort of “Gesamtkunstwerk”, combining sound and light effects, like Vivaldi´s “QuatroStaggioni” with the changing colors evoked by the four baroque concertos.

Spectacular property in Campbell Cliffs for sale

This beautiful and expansive residence is located at 7474 N Cataline Ridge Drive, Tucson, Arizona, United States. It’s a very luxurious and elegant property and it’s currently on the market for $15,900,000. The house sits on a surface of 20 acres with views of the Catalina Mountains and Cobblestone. The house basically dominates the entire Tucson valley. It took the architects two years just to design the house and seven to build it.

It was a challenge that involved selecting the right materials and taking advantage of everything the site had to offer. The house sits among rocks without disturbing the natural environment and the vegetation. The exterior of the house was covered with colors reminiscent of the cliffs behind so that it would naturally integrate into the surroundings. The transition from the exterior into the interior is very smooth. The image of the cliffs, the rock formations and the vegetation is also taken inside.

Globus Chair

Modern furniture is characterized by simple design and usefulness. Things are useful and decorative at the same time and they are made of very few components, mainly plywood and metal , looking very cool and organized. Nothing is out of the place or too much, no useless adornments, but plain and simple items that still look great. This Globus Chair for example looks great, but it is so simple in design that you wonder how come you did not have the idea of designing it.

It was designed by Jesús Gasca for Stua and has beautiful shapes and curves. The seat is curved and perfect for a comfortable sitting and the backrest also follows the natural curve of the human body, but brings a very interesting look. It is somehow carved in the middle, but the space created only brings a bit of curiosity to our minds and challenges our imagination. The chair is completed by the four beautiful legs made of chrome that are securely fixed under the chair in the four corners of the square seating. The seat is also attached to the chair with the help of a shiny chrome piece, which only adds a new feature to the overall design.

The chair is now available in other colours that natural wood and you can buy it for $278 in chrome and $329 with a matte chrome frame.

Perpetual Calendar by MoMA

We live in a busy world and we feel like time is flying. We start the week and in the blink of an eye it is finished. That is why we all keep an eye on the calendar in order to know what date it is and in order to keep deadlines and so on. That is why wall and desk calendar were invented and all offices have at least one. But they are made of paper and printed and you must change them every month or every year. That is unless you have a smart calendar like this Perpetual Calendar by MoMA.

It was created in 1998 by the industrial designer Gideon Dagan. He had this great idea of combining a calendar and a decorative object in one and this is the result. The design of the calendar is very simple, yet very effective and with a great visual impact. The calendar has a big metal frame like a circle that has all the months engraved on the upper side. Then there’s a metal line with all the numbers from 1 to 31, representing the number of days in each month. And then all you have to do is move the magnetic orange balls to the corresponding month and day . Nice and useful. And all these for just $28 from Lumens.
