Award Winning Furniture from Objeti America

You might not be aware about the winners of the New Designer award from ICFF and the name is Objeti people, a unit that hails from Cleveland Ohio. Two of the more familiar products from Objeti are the Soft Tools and the Drop Stools and incase you order any of these; Objeti will not be levying any shipping charges until July 1. We begin with the drop stools more as they have been constructed from a combination of an eco-friendly wood seat and machined aluminum legs. Depending on what size you prefer, you can choose from 20 and 25 inch variants where both have a 15-inch diameter. The wooden seats atop are crafted out of unusable wood drops from local woodworkers in the Northeast Ohio area. Talking about soft tools, these are a series of three hand pressed, naturally dyed, felt pendant lamp which are available in a variety of shapes.

The Plastic House by UNIT Arkitektur AB in Sweden

Do not be baffled by the name of this house as it isn’t finished in ‘plastic’ as the name suggests, but the choice of materials is simple and so is the geometry as the clients wanted a larger house but the budget was limited. The entire old structure was brought down and the new building went for swapping of the old construction pattern and accordingly the bedrooms were moved down, while the living room and the kitchen were shifted to the upper floor. Also, the architecture firm had to bear in mind the Swedish constriction rules that demanded accessibility of a kitchen, living room, bathroom and a bedroom for disabled individuals as well.

Vashon Cabin is an Interesting Home in Washington California

Vandeventer+Carlander Architects were given the responsibility of turning around the looks of a single cabin house in Washington California and the firm certainly responded well. They came up with an ingenious addition for this house located on the Vashon Island and they call this addition as the Vashon Cabin. The challenge was to use the existing space and reform it to enhance the space within owing to building restrictions. Hence came the ingenious addition of a wooden box shaped structure to the existing cubicle. The additional box like structure includes a master bedroom, a bathroom and the kitchen and it blends amazingly with the old single cabin house.
