Open Up Your Living Room With Folding Patio Doors

The great thing about having a patio is that is allows you to open up your living room and to create a strong indoor-outdoor connection. Folding doors are perfect in this case as they allow you to connect the two spaces by eliminating the barrier between them. It’s the perfect combination for warm summer days. Here are a few examples that reinforce this idea.

This beautiful residence has lots of impressive features. Its stone walls are marvelous and the interior design is beautiful as well. But the most eye-catching part is the patio. It’s a beautiful, private space surrounded by fences with climbing plants and flowers. The interior living area can be completely opened onto the patio thanks to the folding doors.

Here we have a contemporary residence, also with an amazing patio. Since the residence has floor-to-ceiling windows, the connection to the exterior area has already been established. Yet it’s a whole different thing where the barrier disappears completely. The two spaces come together as one and the atmosphere changes entirely.

In the case of this modern living room, the situation is quite similar. The glass door and wall separate it from a small but lovely outdoor patio. It’s a very nice design as it is. But as soon as you connect the two spaces, the differences slowly disappear and the visual barriers fade away.

In the case of this contemporary residence the situation is even better. Notice that patio is partially covered by the staircase and terrace. The terrace is like a small roof just outside the living room so when the doors are folded, the barrier disappears gradually and the atmosphere is not overwhelming.

Some homes have interior patios. For example, this residence features a spacious living area and an adjacent interior patio. The two rooms re separated by folding doors. The transparent glass allows a certain connection to be established at all times but without the doors the two spaces become one.

It’s a similar case for this beautiful residence. The indoor patio features large arches that create a Mediterranean décor. When the folding doors open, similar architectural details are revealed inside as well. This allows the connection to be even stronger and seamless.

Nothing compares to a sunny summer day. All you want to do then is enjoy the weather and the outdoors. But you don’t necessarily have to leave the house for that. If you have a beautiful patio like this home does, then just get the folding out of the way and let the sun get inside and the cheerful atmosphere will instantly make you happy.
