Ocean view house in Lagos, Portugal

Some people excavate their terrain to build a house, and others build their home according to the available land. So did the owner of this amazing house, who hired a Portuguese architect, Mario Martins to design this ocean view home in Lagos, Portugal. Looking at it, you have the impression that the whole construction seems to float above the ground, because the foundation is hidden under it, or there is no foundation thanks to the ground floor.

Having an irregular terrain, the architect designed this house taking into account a few aspects: first of all, the house must face the ocean landscape; secondly, it had to be spacious, elegant, and modern, and thirdly, the house had to offer privacy for the residents and comfort. Having a beautiful landscaped garden surrounding the house and a large swimming pool just in front of it, you can aspect the house to have a tall fence surrounding the property to provide privacy to the family.

To access the house’s entrance, you have to step over a suspended concrete walkway, which sits in front of a big, glass window through which we can see a beautiful, decorative pool. The spacious interior is decorated almost only in black and white, with shiny objects and building materials like marble and tiles, giving the place an elegant and sophisticate look, focusing on the amazing view. Through the center of the building there is a staircase which leads us up, on the gardened roof, a spectacular place to meditate and enjoy the sun.{found on contemporist}.
