Nueva Costanera Restaurant Design
Architects Valdés Amunátegui created in Santiago, Chile a beautiful restaurant design.The building is divided in two major interrelated areas.The first one includes the acces and the reception and the main exit to the terrace and bakyard.The larger second one houses the open kitchen and the dining area.Inside the pyramidal ceiling is made from painted pine boards and represents the support for the lighting system, consisting from 34 special molded lamps, secured by brass composite parts, produces also on demand at the factory.
This special designed lighting system define a uniform lighting level and also contributes to the overall environment through the radiance of glass.The walls of this building are covered in white ceramic and stamped with a linear low relief , groupped into module of four units to generate a grate large pattern.
The floor was coverd in reddish Batuco tiles, adding a bit of color and texture to the place.The inlaid doors and windows were made of pine and painted in a bright warm tone, a little bit darker than the walls.The customers furniture and the benches outside were partially painted in red or left unpainted.This ensures the contrast between red chairs and wooden tables or the other way around.Being a restaurant this place has to meet some standards.It is spacious so people would’t bump into each other , it is stylish,it has great outdoor space and I bet the cuisine isn’t bad either.{found on plataformaarquitectura}
