Creating an exotic look for your house is actually not as complicated as you might think. You just need some inspiration. Let’s take as example this beautiful residence located in Seattle. The Norman Residence, as it is called, was designed by Pb Elemental architecture, a company founded by Chris Pardo and David Biddleh in 2004. To give the house a refined and exotic look while also making it feel warm and inviting, the architects decided to use wood as a primary material for the interior décor.
The cedar was used extensively. Its beautiful natural texture was exploited in order to give the house a certain exotic feel. At the same time, all the wood features and décor elements create a warm and inviting atmosphere. Wood was combined with glass in order to also add a modern touch to the design. The large windows and glass walls let in natural light which emphasizes the beauty of the décor. the wooden floors create a very elegant and chic look, especially in the case of the bedroom. This room is simple but it also has an interesting décor.
The bedroom stands out with its color palette and interesting combination of textures. The wooden floor provides a nice background while the light-colored walls maintain balance. The orange shade used for the ceiling is reflected onto the walls and onto the whole room. A similar color is also found on the curtains and the bedding and thus the décor is cohesive. The bedroom opens onto a small terrace and this gives it a nice airy feel that contrasts a little with the theme used for the interior.
