Mushiki – a modular Japanese storage system

People have always been drawn to foreign cultures and their traditions and specific items. Mushiki is an extremely functional storage system. It’s composed of several compartments that have a round shape and that, when closed, have a very compact look. The piece was created by Spanish designer Tomás Alonso. It has a round shape and it’s a modular piece, meaning that you can change it’s design and add as many drawers as you want. The design itself is not particularly traditional as related to the Japanese culture. However, there are some aspect that are clearly borrowed from that area. One thing is the simplicity that has always been appreciated. Another is the functionality and the the fact the piece is multifunctional.
