Modular structure that can be used vertically or horizontally

I can’t remember the last time when I saw a modern whole bookcase. It seems that modern people focus more on individual shelves or multifunctional wall units. This particular bookcase though, has the modern trademark “written all over”. This ONDA modular bookcase was designed by Italian architect Angela Tomaiuolo  for Tonin CASA. Extremely versatile this self supporting library unit is made out from lacquered MDF with extra clear glass shelves.

It has a modular structure that can be used vertically or horizontally and still get the same marvelous wave effect.  Simply the fact that this is painted white will work perfectly in most contemporary interiors.  The wave-like structure allows you to store in it a great variety of things, not only books. Decorative items can be place among your favorite books.

Given its nature and intricate design this same unit can be playful and colored with a lot of books and decorative items with an overall shaggy look or it can be a very elegant, classy library unit that will be the home for your favorite classical collection of books any why not vinyl records. There is a down size, at least from my point of view; I would want to have a smaller version of this so I can place it in the kid’s bedroom or in a tight apartment.
