Modern Stone House In A Peaceful Spanish Village

A small and peaceful village populated by old houses is the location chosen for this beautiful house. Here, in the Baix Empordà area in Girona, Spain, the atmosphere is very friendly. However, fitting the building in these surroundings turned out to be a challenge. The house was designed and built by Núria Selva Villaronga architects and it was completed in 2011.

The plot of which the house was built had an irregular shape so the building itself became unconventional in this sense. The design chosen for the residence is not exactly unconventional. The natural stone exterior, the tiled roof and Venetian booklet blinds allow the house yo blend in and to naturally integrate into the landscape.

The ground floor of the house actually features two levels. The lower level is connected to the garden. It includes the living room, the office, a guest bedroom and the service areas. The first floor is a more private zone. It also has a living room as well as a dining room and a kitchen facing the porch and terraces.
