The almost 1,000 square feet house was not in such bad condition. It was just old and needed to be updated and brought into the 21st century. It took the architect nine month to do that. The house was small: a 2-bedroom, one-bathroom residence. The idea was to remodel the house, to give it a modern look while still preserving the main characteristics that made it a Schindler.

As this types of homes often feature built-in furniture, a built-in desk was also added into the living room. Another challenge was to recreate the original colors that have been used. They had faded out and it was difficult to guess the exact tone.

The architect also added a new kitchen and bathroom and this time he used modern materials. He thought that if Schindler was alive today he would be using the materials of our era. Some changes have bee made. Schindler never paid much attention to the kitchen as he considered it a simple utility area. But since nowadays the kitchen has become more of a social area, it was brought up to date. Overall, this Schindler house got an elegant remodel and it’s ready to be used by its new owners.{found on latimesblog}
