Modern bicyclist’s residence with storage for 22 bikes

This is a very interesting residence located in Portland, Ore that is owned by a couple that really likes bicycles. This is their passion and they wanted their home to reflect that. So they built a home with a sauna and storage for 22 bikes.

The house is owned by Tim and Sue Butler, a couple who races nationally and internationally. Their first preoccupation when searching for a new home was the storage space for the bikes. They finally managed to find a place that they bought for a one million dollars. It’s an imposing three-story building mostly made of wood and glass.

It features a contemporary design, both inside and outside. It has a roof deck that offers 360-degree view of the city and a separate 600-square-foot garage that they use to store their 22 bikes plus several other items. They also have a hot-water washing station for muddy bikes, a sauna, a fitness room and a fix-it station.

It’s a house very different from the usual homes but the owners are special as well. The couple realized that they wanted something different. Still, they never imagines they would end up with this residence. It’s perfect for them and they wouldn’t trade it for the world. It’s a great example of a customized residence.
