Missing Pieces coffee table

A lot of people love and have jigsaw puzzles. They’re fun the first time you solve them and then they just take space. As time passes, pieces start to get lost and there’s really nothing you can do with the puzzle. Well…almost nothing. UK designer Rupert McKelvie has found a very ingenious and functional way of using old puzzles.

The Missing Pieces coffee table is actually entirely covered with jigsaw puzzle pieces from puzzles with…missing pieces. Just because the puzzle is old and it can’t be solved anymore it doesn’t mean it can’t be used for something else. However I can’t imagine how annoying must have been to made this coffee table. As you can imagines, the coffee table is unique, not just because of the design but also because of the puzzle pieces and the way they’re arranged. It’s a great way of recycling useless pieces and turning them into something new and interesting.

This coffee table is not for everyone. It takes someone special to appreciate a piece like this. Even though I like the idea, I would have preferred a different coffee table, with a different design. If you also like the idea but dislike some elements or details, there’s a way you can solve this problem: make your own design. I can’t guarantee that it’s going to look as good as this one, but you can try.
