Lowstack industrial chiar for familiar environments
Peter Simonik and Elena Bolcekova, Allt’s two masterminds, have created an interesting and unique piece that will add a funky look to your home. The Lowstack chair draws inspiration from the industrial structure used to stack unfinished wood planks, avoid degradation and allow better manipulation.
This lovely chair has a simple design, but still manages to surprise you with its geometric shape that gives it a modern flair. By cutting out spaces from this structure, an object is created and its function changes as stacked material is added or removed. This item is entirely made of spuce wood which gives it a rustic feel. The idea based on stacked boards like those in sawmills, result in a seat that comes with a couple of cushions. Moreover it is comfortable and offers great support and generous proportions. Its dimensions are 1500mm x 800mm x 800mm.
Designed by Bratislava-based studio, the Lowstack is a great and inspiring addition to any house. You can spend long hours reading a book in your garden or enjoy a cup of coffee with friends while sitting comfortably on this bench. All in all, this item brings closer its industrial qualities in more familiar environments and it looks like a great DIY project. What do you think?
