The Loft Bauhaus – Contemporary, Rustic Style
A gorgeously modern residence – the Loft Bauhaus – is located in Brasilia, Brazil and blends beautifully the elements of contemporary design and rustic warmth. Add the gorgeous views and wonderful location to the mix and you get a perfect home.
Although this transparency doesn’t offer much privacy, the purpose becomes obvious at night when everything is peaceful and calm and you can relax in the living room and admire the surroundings.
Sliding glass panels create a seamless transition between outside and inside and serve to open up the space – literally and visually. It’s not easy to tell where “inside” begins (at first, the home’s living room just looks like a beautifully bedecked patio).
With its open floor plan and clean architecture, the Loft Bauhaus has a decidedly modern foundation. The kitchen, living area and bedroom form one big space. Partial walls divide them. For example, the kitchen is a semi-private space but it still remains linked to the rest of the house.
Throughout the home, rustic and modern elements collide and combine to create a unique warmly-minimalist space. Notice the simple wooden table with its traditional shape and design and the big and modern pendant light hanging above it.
A neutral color palette is filled with varying shades of greys, browns, and blacks. A full wall of stone gives off the sense of almost being underground (a very luxe and stylish underground), especially when the opposite wall of glass allows residents to examine the vastness outside at their leisure.
The use of natural elements such as wood, iron, and stone bring in a sense of warmth and cozy livability to the straight lines. Glass also plays an important role. It allows nature to become a part of the interior décor.
What a fantastic, almost playful, scale of the oversized pendant lights. They add dynamism to the space and emphasize the combo of modern and rustic.
The whole house feels very relaxing. There are plenty of lounge areas and they’re all beautiful and surrounded by nature, whether vegetation and color are actually part of the décor or just visible through the glass walls.
Large spherical touches continue through the open living area, from the arched floor lamp…to the huge decorative pottery behind the club chairs.
Overall, it’s hard not to feel at home in a space where such soothing, warming colors, textures, and materials have been combined with such attention to detail.Such an inspiring blend of styles, in a beautifully serene setting. Gorgeous design by Ana Paula Barros!
