The building is an old prison that was turned into a hostel for some time. It is quite old and sturdy, as it was built in 1840 and had served as a prison until 1975. Of course it was completely renovated before being open to the public as a hostel, but the main appearance is unchanged. The cells are still there, but the comfort is a lot improved. You do have two bunk beds in a room, but you also have wireless connection to the Internet, bathroom access and nice and comfortable bed mattresses.
