Indoor garden by Ferber and Dieckmann

Just because you live in an apartment, in a very busy urban area, this doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the great benefits of having your own garden. Of course, it would have to be a smaller garden and it would have to be indoors, but it’s still possible. Charlotte Dieckmann and Nils Ferber have come up with an ingenious way that will make this wish come true.

The Parasite Farm, as this collection is called, doesn’t seem to have a very friendly name but it actually expresses very well the nature and purpose of this product. The Parasite Farm is a series of grow beds, grow lights and a table-mounted composite bin. The pieces can be attached to your already existing furniture and will not represent an inconvenient in any way. Actually, it will provide you with fresh, natural aliments that you can grow yourself and use directly from the source. It doesn’t get better than that.

However, because of the small dimensions, you won’t be able to grow larger plants like tomatoes for example because they require more space and a lot of soil. Also, the composite bin might represent a source for bad odors but it’s equipped with a secure seal that prevents that. The Parasite Farm is great for small plants and herbs like peppers, beans and condiments.{found on designboom}
