10 Easy Ways To Make Your Home Smell Fresh Every Day

A house that smells fresh and beautiful is more inviting and comfortable and you don’t always need to spend money on air-fresheners to get the desired effect. There are other ways to keep your home breezy and smelling great.

Open the windows.

Before anything, open a window to let the fresh air in. You should do this every morning, even if for only a few minutes. If the weather is nice, then take advantage of that.

Decorate with flowers.

A beautiful bouquet of flowers will make your home smell beautiful and it will also help define the overall décor. Flowers are pretty to look at and you can display them in vases on the coffee table, on the counter or on a shelf.

Clean the carpets.

Carpets and rugs attract odors and at some point they can start to smell pretty bad. Eliminate the existing carpet odors using baking soda. Sprinkle baking soda on the carpet and let it sit for a while, then vacuum.

Eliminate pet odors.

It’s possible for your pet to leave a little something for you on the carpet every once in a while. If it’s liquid we’re talking about, then use paper towels to absorb all the liquid, then rinse the area with fresh cool water and remove the excess water with a wet vacuum or with paper.

Use furniture spray.

You can make your own furniture spray by mixing water with liquid fabric softener and a teaspoon of baking soda.

Keep the fridge smelling great.

To get rid of unpleasant odors in the fridge, you can fill a bowl with fresh unflavored oats which will absorb the smells. You can also use coffee beans.

Use room spray.

If you don’t like any of the room sprays you can buy in shops, then make your own version. You can use lime juice, water and baking soda. This will neutralize smells and will make your house smell beautiful.

Clean the bathroom with lemon juice.

Use a lemon to clean your shower or to remove soap scum and limescale. You can also mix lemons with baking soda to clean the toilet.

Use scented candles.

Light up a few scented candles or use a scented oil burner to make your home smell great. You can have these candles spread throughout the house and place them on shelves, on the tables and on the counters.

Get rid of cigarette smoke odor.

If you’re a smoker, maybe you don’t realize that your home smells like cigarettes but other will notice. You can place bowls of white vinegar and ammonia around the house to absorb and eliminate the odor.
