How to make hemp string pendant lamps

It’s hard to believe that these beautiful pendant lamps were made of hemp string. As you’ll see next, it’s not as difficult as it seems. You might even be able to make one yourself if you follow the instructions. First let’s see which are the supplies and tools sued for this project. It might sound strange, but you’ll have to use bouncy balls of various sizes.

You’ll also need clear drying craft glue and, of course, hemp string. If you use a 16’’ diameter ball you’ll need 400 yards. For a 14’’ diameter ball – 300 yards and for a 9’’ diameter ball only 100 yards. You can also use plastic gloves and you’ll need a permanent marker as well. Also, make sure you have a ball inflating needle and the hardware for the pendant lamp. The first thing you need to do is draw a circle on the ball you plan on using with a permanent market. This circle represents the portion of the lamp that needs to remain clear of string.

Now the messy part begins. For this you can use gloves. It’s time to apply the glue. A simple trick is to squeeze a quarter size amount of glue and simply run the hemp through it. Then wrap the hemp around the ball. You can use a random pattern to apply wrap the hemp and avoid criss-cross patterns. Also, remember that the circle area needs to remain untouched. After that, let the glue dry. Then use the inflating needle to deflate the ball and remove it from the lamp. Not the tricky part. Install the wires and hardware and make sure the light bulb is hanging down in the center of the sphere.{found on craftynest}.
