How to make a tiki torch from an empty wine bottle

As we previously mentioned in another article, wine bottles can be useful even after you’ve emptied their content. They can be used for numerous DIY projects, some of which can be quite ingenious and unusual. One such example is the tiki torch. Believe it or not, you can make your own torch and you don’t even need many supplies. This project is inspired by the simpler version of the wine bottle torch presented in another article.

It’s a project that will not only add style and will make your outdoor terrace, porch or garden get a more romantic look but it will also have another benefit effect. The tiki torch you are about to make also keeps mosquitoes and bugs away. Moreover, it has a quite beautiful look. It’s simple and looks even elegant. To make this tiki torch you will need a few materials. They include 1/2″ x 3/8″ of copper coupling, Tiki replacement wick, nylon thread seal tape and an empty wine bottle or beer bottle.

Also, you should get some citronella torch fuel. Making the torch is not that difficult. First you need to wrap the pipe wrap around the copper reducer. You need to do this more than one time. Then insert the wick into the reducer. Finally, fill the bottle with torch fuel and insert the wick. Allow the oil to be absorbed into the wick before you light the torch. As you can, it’s quite simple. You can do the same with beer bottles and the result will be smaller torches, great for the yard.
