How to divide a large living room

Dividing a large room in two has become a very common practice today. When the rooms are large enough, often most of the space remains unused. So, it is a good idea to make proper utilization of available space, especially when you stay in an apartment that doesn’t have many rooms. You can divide your large room into two. Suppose you have a large living room. You can include your TV room or reading room or even the dining room in this room itself by simply dividing it.

Now, since you have decided to divide the room, the next question is how to proceed. The best way is to use folding and freestanding room dividers. Also, there are handmade dividing screens. Bookshelves are another great way to partition room. However using bookshelves as divider serves well when you have a large array of books.

If you want to be one-step ahead, use artificial trees to divide the room into sections. It also gives a natural look to your room. Again, you can also buy a rack that is open from both sides. This rack should have several selves. You can decorate these shelves with showpieces, candles, flower vase etc.

When you want to make the other part of the living room a dining hall, you can also keep dinner sets, platters on the rack. Another way is to place the dining table on one side and the sofa on the other side with the back of the three-seater sofa to the table.

Adding a transparent screen in between will add to the beauty.  Dividing your room with a netted floor touching curtain will also give a very pretty look. Select the color of the curtain such that it complements the color of the room.
