How to build your own chicken coop
If you like eggs and chickens and you have the space for them in your yard or garden, then why not build yourself a chicken coop? This way you’ll have cute chickens which the kids will love and you’ll also have some fresh eggs now and then. You don’t even have to be a specialist for that because you can build your own chicken coop and we’ll teach you how.
Start with the base of the coop. Make sure there’s plenty of space underneath for the chickens to use. After deciding on the legs, use 3’’ screws in each post to make it durable and sturdy. Then get to the wall framing. It also has to be sturdy and durable. After this is done, get the walls up. You can place the wood vertically or horizontally and, if you can find some, you can use larger pieces. Before going any further, don’t forget about the nesting boxes inside.
After this is done, you’ll have to get to the roof. Use plywood for this section. Add paint and tar paper. As you can see, this chicken coop also has windows. You don’t have to do that if you don’t want to. The chicken won’t even notice them anyway. However, the door is absolutely necessary. After everything is done, you can paint the coop. This is the part where you can be creative.{found on housewivesofriverton}
