It’s difficult to choose a color for the walls of a room and it’s particularly difficult in the case of the bedroom. We know that and that’s why we decided to offer you some tips on this subject. So far we talked about bedrooms with black walls and with grey walls. This time we’re going to focus of brown which is a warmer color but still considered to be neutral by some people.
Brown is a color that’s not as strong and dramatic as black so it can be safely used for all the walls. Also, there are different shades of brown so it’s important to pay attention to this detail as well. A bedroom where all the walls are brown needs a brighter and lighter color so it would be nice to opt for white. For example, paint the door white, the windows and maybe even the floor and use white for the furniture and decorations too.
And since we mention the different shades of brown, there’s also the possibility of combining them. If you have an attic bedroom then you can use a darker shade of brown for the lower portion of the walls and a lighter one for the upper part and for the ceiling. You can also do the same in the case of a regular bedroom and you can even create an angle to suggest the presence of a roof and to create a cozier décor.
Brown is a color that can be easily combined with beige. So if you have brown walls in the bedroom, then you can choose beige for the furniture, bedding, curtains and the rug. But it might still be too simple for your taste so you might want to add a bolder color to the mix. Blue or turquoise would be nice.
Another particularity of brown is that it’s a warm, earthy color. You can take advantage of this and you can use all sorts of textures to create a cozy and warm atmosphere. You can use felt or even fur for some of the details such as the cushions, the rug, etc.
You can also use colors that are closely related to brown. For example, use red, burgundy, beige and play with different shades. You can also a cold color into the mix, such as blue or purple. Also, use soft, diffuse light.
