Habitable Polyhedron by Manuel Villa

This project has been made for a family in the suburbs. It is designed with an aim to provide an open area or a small park to young parents to enjoy independent space with their newborn child, away from the daily routine and household activities. It has a place for reading, playing and many other things. The small building is made to support and complement outdoor activities. The aim is that initially this place would be the home the child will share with his parents and later on use it for his hobbies and personal use.

Habitable Polyhedron

It seems a little odd when you look at it. And it also seems a little drastic, to live in a capsule somewhere in the middle of nowhere, just you and your baby. But it’s not crazy at all when you stop and analyze all the factors. Just think about how annoying it is to live in a crowded and busy city, with all the noise and other distractions. And it’s not what you need at all, especially when you have a new born child. What you need then is a small place, in a quiet location where everybody else just disappears.

This is exactly what this little house does. It creates a beautiful environment for you and your baby, a place where he can sleep without being bothered by anyone and where he can play outside without worrying that a car might hit him. It’s a good idea, and it’s just temporary, until he gets a little older and starts to have other needs, like making friends and going to kindergarten.
