“Green” House in Washington by David Vandervort Architects

This next house designed by David Vandervort Architects is an impressive eco-friendly contemporary masterpiece. Situated above the Ballard Ship Canal, NEXTHouse provides an amazing connection to Seattle landmarks.

The house was built on an existing foundation of a previous residence which was demolished. A rigid program of an site waste was implemented. Moreover in order to alleviate the impacts of enlarging the footprint of the house eco-roofs were implemented to collect additional storm-water.

Siting on a 5,500 square feet plot, of which 2,700 sqf occupied by the house, it is designed to appreciate the land. The house presents three bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms, a highly functional and high tech kitchen, a garage and a shop. Furthermore the interior is very modern, the architects used a lot of hardwood flooring in order to contrast the metal railing of the staircase and white walls.

Among its many great features the residence presents a cozy fireplace and gorgeous bathroom furniture which is set off by the lovely tile.

The NEXTHouse is an unique and green residence, perfect for you and your family. It is a contemporary house and a model for sustainable housing at a reasonable cost. With its terraces, decks and patios this wonderful home encourages outdoor living and is currently available for purchase.
