This gorgeous residence is located in Sydney, Australia. It’s a beautiful contemporary residence with a very functional, warn and inviting interior décor. Even thought it might seem brand new, this is actually a conversion of a 1960s house. The old residence was turned into a modern version of itself with the help of MCK Architects. The name of the new structure is very suggestive: the Flipped House.
The new residence now has a different structure and tries to engage as much as possible from the surrounding garden, creating a beautiful indoor-outdoor connection. The original plan of the house was adapted and some changes have been made. Also some new elements have been incorporated, expanding the living space and adding some new indoor-outdoor areas.
Of course, not everything has been replaced and changed. The interior décor still reminds of the old house and the fixtures, the fittings and the decorative details have been chosen in accordance with the original design. The interior is mostly wood and the décor is minimalist and elegant.
It’s a very warm and cozy atmosphere inside and the colors have been beautifully chosen to create a harmonious look. The large windows offer expansive views over the garden and there’s a new area resembling an outdoor terrace that makes part of the whole structure that offers beautiful views and where the users can be in touch with nature.
