Glass House by Nico Van Der Meulen Architects
Glass House by Nico Van Der Meulen Architects is situated on a 4000 sq.m site, with a total floor area of 2500sq.m. More than 70% of the house is from glass, for example the window to the dining room is a 6m high curved glass enclosure, where each sheet of glass leans over further than the previous sheet, with glass fins holding it in position.
The main bedroom is big with an impressive view. The North and east walls are also made of glass and slide open, even if privacy is required, the doors can be left open and the automatic blinds can be lowered, still allowing views and ventilation, but looking translucent from outside.
This is a luxury property with a stone walls and an inside round pool, with lights everywhere meant to value every corner of the house, with exquisite and expensive furniture and every detail of the decor showing impeccable taste. And even if most of the house is made of glass, this is done in a clever way and you don’t feel like living in a fish tank, but on the contrary, you have the impression of total freedom.
