4. Get the fireplace ready.
What’s a winter holiday without a fireplace? If you’re lucky enough to have one, don’t hesitate to use it. It will be a great plus for the holidays. First of all, ask a professional to make sure everything it ok and ready to be used before you actually start a fire. Then have some wood ready and clean out the interior and exterior of the fireplace.
5. Double-check the safety precautions.
These days you never know how the weather is going to be like in a few hours or the next day. So make sure your home is ready for rough weather and have everything prepared in case you need extra items. Also, make sure your alarms are working and that your first aid kit is fully stocked. You never know when you need it so why risk it?
