Fun and creative dress boys for the bedroom

The term dress boy’s is not something most people are familiar with. Apparently they define a unit for draping cloths and it’s made of half of an old chair. It sounds interesting so we decided to investigate some more. Since we have the habit of leaving our cloths on the floor or laying around everywhere, such an invention would be a very practical addition to the bedroom. This is DIY project that will show how to make your own dress boys for your bedroom.

Here are the materials you’ll need for this project: 2 chairs (any wooden chair you don’t mind sawing in half), cleat, glue, screws, drill, circular saw and paint. You will have to sacrifice the chairs but at the end you’ll have a creative and functional addition to your bedroom that will help you keep your cloths organized and your room clean. You can either go with a modern look or with a more antique design. It all depends on the type of chairs you choose and the paint you add after that.

Since there are two chairs, hence 2 dress boys, it would be nice to create a his and hers project. To do that, first use the circular handsaw to cut the seats in half. Then use a French cleat under the remaining piece of the seat to hold the chairs to the wall. This way they are easy to remove for cleaning. Then you can also paint the chairs. This would actually need to be done before mounting the chairs on the wall. Now you have two original dress boys to hold your cloths.{found on ikeahakers and laphoeff}.
