Joanna and Alex have a nice apartment in Manhattan. At one point this fall they felt the need to change the look of their bedroom. It wasn’t so bad but it started to look boring and outdated. It was particularly frustrating for Joanna who works from home and spends most of the day in the bedroom. So they decided to ask their friend Jenny Komenda who is an interior decorator from Little Green Notebook for help.

The goal was to transform the bedroom into a bright and cheerful space but on a budget. The bedroom used to be simple and calm. This seemed nice at first but then it started to look boring and depressing, especially during the winter. The couple already had several pieces of furniture that they wanted to keep so this time they weren’t starting from scratch.

With the help of their friend designer they started planning the new look for the bedroom. They repainted the walls with a blush pink color. It’s a more cheerful tone and it’s also more warm and cozy. Jenny, the designer, created that beautiful tufted headboard herself. It’s a nice touch and it definitely makes the bedroom brighter. They then added friendly and fun pieces such as that bright pillow or the photos with the flowers.

The two mid-century bedside tables were also found by Jenny and they fit perfectly into the décor. The couple added lots of family photos on the wall to make the room more personal and inviting. And just to make everything look beautiful together, the couple opted for those beautiful old rugs.{found on joannagoddard}.
