Fluid Furniture by Lila Jang

In the past if something was fashionable everybody wanted to have it and they all were very proud to have some possessions just ;ike someone else. However, people have changed a lot lately and now they believe it’s really cool to be different, at any cost. So the latest fashion is to have something unique, out of the ordinary with the risk of having something ugly. Well, Lila Jang is anything but usual and she is a great furniture design. She has a special vision when regarding furniture and she transposes her special vision in her work. And I think the most important feature of her works is fluidity – they seem to flow like a liquid and to have a life of their own.

So don’t be surprised if you see her “Canape” – sofa for the corner actually climbing the wall, with half of its feet on the floor and the other half on the wall or the chair that seems to be melting down and flowing in the tiles on the floor. Or maybe you will be impressed by the two chairs with different seats but sharing the same back rest. All the legs and shapes of these chairs and sofas – these pieces of furniture seem to lose their clear contour and melt down, become fluids, but also become the perfect spot for lovers – seats for two that melt into one, etc. All the shapes are very unexpected and far from the object we had in mind, but all in a positive way. I love the work.
