Located in the small forest of Los Pinos, this is a compact house that misses the open, spacious comfort of the larger homes.The name of the building is Casa Maiz and was developed by Sergio Araneda. However, the house has a concentric shape enabling it to receive large families of the owners. The house looks simple and elegant from the inside with the upper floor possessing sliding glass windows to enjoy the view outside. A neat sit-out for an evening tea and plenty of greenery outside the house make it a comfortable place for those who want to move away from the noise of the city into the sounds of the forest. Casa 205 is a one of its kind house, built on the edge of a steep cliff. The house is built of timber that is reusable and recyclable. Inside, the house has woodwork of pine and plywood panels which have been prefabricated. This makes most of the structure very light weight, in sync with its settings. The beautiful windows and the house itself offer a great scenic hillside view. The house has been designed by a Spanish architecture firm in a thoughtful and eco-friendly way. Constructed from an older structure in the dense San Francisco area, this house is only 1200 square feet in area with height constraints as well.Was designed by IwamotoScott. However, the architect has done a wonderful job in using these constraints as a strength and built a house which is modern, well ventilated, and also has open spaces like a deck and a courtyard connecting to the street lined with wooden frames. The house has sliding doors and windows with a façade made of channel-glass lined with steel tubes. The house has a decking made of Ipe wood and a rainscreen siding too.
