Extended historic heritage monument

Uri Cohen Architects designed the Hotel Villa in Yessod Hammala, Israel. What you see here is a historic structure that has been preserved ever since it was built. This historic heritage monument has also been enlarged and an extension has been added. The original house was built by the pioneers back in the 19th century. The structure is located in Yessod Hammala, Israel. It’s a tourist area and this will probably make it possible for this place to be used in the future as a hotel or as other commercial area.

This project has been taken into consideration when the extension has been added. That’s why a long corridor has been built. The corridor crosses the entire site and it connects all sorts of outdoor spaces that at one time could be rejoined to form new structures. The entire structure as it is now could at some time in the future be used as one, two or even three living units or maybe as a hotel.

When the addition has been built, the façade of the original building has been preserved. The extension was built as a bloating box above the ground floor. There’s not a lot of fluidity between the stone façade with its historic look and the modern extension. Nevertheless, this is what could become a unique place and a wonderful retreat for tourists.
