This is the Origami chair and it was designed by Jan Brouwer & Chris Karthaus. The chair is made from recycled 3mm aluminum sheeting. It’s laser cut, folded and bolted together and the result is this intriguing piece of furniture which you can integrate into your home’s modern décor.

The Origami Bench was designed by blackLAB architects for a special exhibit. The piece is prefabricated out of geometric-shaped panels of white laminate birch plywood. It has tubular steel legs and a design which makes it seem like it’s made of folded paper.

T. SHELF or Triangular shelf is a modular system designed by J1. It can be reorganized and reassembled into a variety of shapes with a variety of functions. The structures feature sculptural designs and use the triangle as the base concept.

Here’s another very interesting piece from J1. It’s a table with a sculptural wooden base and a glass top. The transparent tabletop allows the geometric-shaped base to stand out and to become the focal point.

The Hedronic Chairs are created by anOtherArchitect and their design is based on the polyhedron which also inspired the name. The chair is produced from a single piece of folded stainless steel and this makes it very similar to the art of folding paper.

The Origami Sofa was designed by Yumi Yoshida and it’s a particularly interesting piece because it can be unfolded it into a flat mat. It’s a very lightweight and versatile piece which can be reshaped and unfolded, becoming a compact structure which you can take with you on your travels.

The Flat Stanley Origami Chair is very similar to the sofa in the sense that it too can be unfolded, becoming flat. Being able to build the chair just like an origami is actually very fun, not to mention that you can save a lot of space when storing the piece.

Designed by Jurmot Yao, this piece is called Venom and it has a very unusual design which makes it look like something from a sci-fi movie. The stool is made of carbon fiber and utilizes origami folds in its design.

This intriguing chair takes the idea of origami furniture to a whole new level. That’s because it’s actually made of cardboard and folded just like an oversized origami, a lot of more difficult to shape and design.{found on behance}.

This one is also an Origami Table. It was designed by Anthony Dickens & Tony Wilson and it’s very easy and fun to assemble. It has a glass top and three legs. It can be assembled without screws, bolts or pegs. The steel legs slot together to form the tripod base.

The Flux Chair is a piece of furniture also influences by origami. It unfolds and becomes flat, making it very easy to store it. The chair is made from a single sheet of plastic and it can be folded into a sturdy piece in 10 seconds.

Marco Kirsch designed an Origami folding lamp. It’s made of a single stainless steel square and it takes 5 minutes to fold. There’s no need for tools. Then just insert the LEF lighting fixture and the lamp is all complete.

Orikomi is a pendant light designed by architecture office blaanc and it’s made from origami art paper. The handmade piece is produced in Portugal and it has an elegant design,. It looks simple but it’s actually very complex.

The Palmas origami vase collection is the creation of Ofir Zucker and Ilan Garibi. The vases are made of concrete and they are each casted into a hand-folded origami mold. The mold has a one-time use only so each vase is unique.

The art of folding paper also inspired a series of big projects in the architecture world. For example, this is the Origami office building located in Paris, France. Designed by Manuelle Gaufrand Architecture, the building has a facade dressed in a double skin of glass with a pleated marble pattern.

Located in Tokyo, this residence has a bold geometric facade reminiscent of Origami. Designed by Yashuhiro Yamashita, the building is tiny but customized with carved out niches for everything including a covered car parking space.

The Tetra Shed is a private office with a very interesting design. It’s built of timber, rubber and plywood and it’s a modular space which can accommodate two people. The office occupies an area of 86 square feet.
