People realized that if they keep cutting out forests and turning them into paper, we would soon be breathless because of the lack of oxygen. And since the forests are the lungs of the planet we should save them from cutting by recycling paper. That is the basic idea and source of inspiration for the designer of the Ex & Hopp Rubbish Collector.

This is a waste paper bin that you can use in any office and even at home. But what makes it so special and interesting is the fact that it uses paper bags hanging from some metal frame for collecting the papers you need to throw. This way you collect in a selective way – only the paper – and recycle the shopping bags. It won the Design Plus prize in 1994 and it is available on Torquato for £ 44.95.
