Their new home was built by John Brink Construction and the interior design was created by Brantner Design. It’s a home that reminds of the northern European country homes. John Brink, principal of Tahoe City-based John Brink Construction said that their main goal was to build a house that looked like it’s been sitting there for 600 years. Indeed, they managed to do exactly that.

In order to do that they had to use appropriate materials. The owners had to travel to France in search of antique materials like reclaimed oak beams, aged limestone tiles and salvaged limestone fireplaces. These elements helped create an authentic design. The hard part was to get the materials from France to California. When they finally managed to get everything done, the architects only had to take care of the construction. The result was a unique residence with a very authentic atmosphere and a unique interior décor. It’s the dream home that owners wanted.
