People often don’t realize, but they have this habit of imagining all sorts of things. Fir example they wonder what would happen if a Pekingese combines with a St. Bernard? Do you get a giant Pekingese or a very small St. Bernard? Or, what would it look like if you combine a chair with a bench? In the last case, someone actually turned the idea into reality.

Darmstadt – based studio Kieser Spath designed Emma. The result was a chair sitting on top of a bench structure. It sounds simple and not that exciting, but the actual product is more interesting and functional than you might think. This bench-like chair, or chair-like bench is a very comfortable and very useful piece. It’s also extremely versatile as it can be placed basically anywhere in the house. You can use it as a quiet place for reading, the extension allowing you to also have a place for your books or for a cold drink. You can also use it as a very comfy sitting place on the deck, on the terrace, inside the house or outside.

Emma is a very friendly piece of furniture. It’s been made using ash-wood and a cushioned seat shell. It has a playful look that makes it perfect for any type f home. The chair is available is black or blue.
