Elegant vintage dresser makeover

This lovely vintage dresser didn’t always look as good as it does now. In fact, there was a point when it looks quite different and significantly less appealing. At that point it was just sitting in a secondhand shop covered in ugly old paint, just waiting for someone kind enough to take it home. That person was Elisa who decided to rescue this dresser. She bough it for $60 and took it home.

There, the dresser got a makeover and a new look. The first thing that Elisa wanted to do was red rid of all that ugly paint. She used a hand sander and liquid stripper to remove the brown paint. When that was gone, Elisa was able to see the dresser in its true beauty. She also got the chance to repair a crack in the top and to fix a bottom drawer that closed a little too far.

Also, she discovered that all that paint was actually hiding the true beauty of the dresser. It had very attractive wood grain so Elisa decided not to stain the dresser. Instead, she chose to add a clear coat for protection and nothing more. This was a very successful DIY project. Luckily, Elisa was able to remove all the paint without damaging the wood underneath. Now this lovely vintage dresser look beautiful and it also has a place to call home again.{found apartmenttherapy}
