First you’ll have to find a computer that you can play with. It has to be a working computer, not necessarily the one you regularly use. In this case, a Pentium 4 was used, the one that has a reputation for running hot. It was the perfect thing for this project. The grass that will be growing needs to be placed on top of the computer case.

The soil needs to be added. The heat generated by the computer will provide the perfect environment for the grass. Since this computer was only to be used as a decorative piece and it was specifically chosen for this project, the unnecessary pieces inside the case were removed.

The grass was a nice and interesting touch but the effect would be even more powerful if you could actually see the mechanism inside the computer. That’s why a transparent case was used. An acrylic display case was placed on top of the computer case. Installing it might be a little tricky but it all works out in the end if you use your creativity and the items you have available around you. After you add the case you can place the components back in the computer. Then fill the case with soil and add some wheatgrass. Now all you have to do is wait for the grass to grow.{found on totalgeekdom}.
