DIY Argyle Sock Vases

Most of the times DIY projects besides their practical side they are also a funny activity. They may fill your free time on a rainy afternoon or a boring day that you spend at home. The activity may become even funnier if you use some cute materials as for examples some pair of socks.

Usually women hate the moment when they find their husband’s socks everywhere in the house. Now if you prepare to start a funny DIY project based on the use of some pair of socks you might forget about this incident and even become happy when you find them.If the pair of socks has a lovely and interesting design then it might become perfect for your DIY Argyle Sock Vases.Here are the materials that you need: socks, vessels, needle and thread, scissors and scrap fabric.

Now you are ready to start your work. Pull sock over vessel to make sure if fits nicely and you like the shape of it. Cut the sock an inch underneath the vessel. Pull it off the vessel to sew it. Put your vessel base on the leftover socks bits and trace the bottom. Do this on your scrap fabric also. Cut out the two base shapes.

Pin the scrap fabric to the sock fabric so that the scrap will go on the inside and the sock will be facing out on the base. Turn the sock inside out and put back on the vessel. Fold the extra fabric underneath the base and pin it inside the circle template you made with the scrap fabric facing out.

When you sew this and turn it inside out you will have the sock base facing outwards, which is what you want. Sew the base to the rest of the sock using matching color thread. Snip any excess fabric once it is sewn to remove bulk from the base. Turn inside out and slide your sock over your vessel. You can fuss with the banding at the top to make it straight.{found on designsponge}
