Decorating A Silver Bedroom: Ideas & Inspiration

Need a fresh idea for your bedroom makeover? How about a bit of metallic accents to brighten up the room and give it a bit of an edge. Silver isn’t as harsh of gold but still looks incredibly elegant and refined in big and small spaces. It also works well with muted neutrals giving off a relaxing vibe and cozy atmosphere.

I really love the feel of a silver tinted bedroom. Mixed with the right amount of charcoals and creams, a silver-lined bedroom gives off a cool warmness that makes it easy to relax in the evenings and easy to feel at home in. You can make the room more masculine or  add a bunch of girlish charm using blush pinks or lavender accessories. Create texture on the walls using a metallic silver paint pattern or make sure your headboard is covered in the shiny tone. It’s create a focal point and more interest within a more subdued color palette.

Believe it or not, pairing silver with some chocolatey browns creates a rich, warm style. Although it’s not a natural coupling, silver will take the golden undertone from brown creating a natural light around the room. It’s quite a Victorian-style pair as well.

What’s great about silver is that it’s foundation is held within the grey family. Meaning no matter what color you use to accent the room, it’ll be the star of the show. Red, yellow, light green …. it all pops right off the silvery bedspread or heather grey walls. This makes it incredibly easy to use seasonal home accessories. Use red, sweater pillows on the bed to decorate for Christmas or use from springy, floral curtains to dress the room for summertime. No matter what, it also looks great.

Silver is also a great option for creating a very modern bedroom. It can easily make sharp lines look sharper and clean spaces look cleaner because of it’s sleek finish. Pair it with a low, platform bed and minimalistic decor for a chic, contemporary room.

But, a silver bedroom can also be quite romantic. Like a rainy day, these darker rooms can be quite settling for the soul. Use candles sconces to give off subdued lighting, yet add to the whimsical feeling. Then, make sure you use some powdery blue accessories around the space. Blue bedspreads or curtains can blend really well with silver accents and grey walls. A chandelier might even be something to look into for some unique, romantic lighting.
