Creative driftwood hanger, another original DIY project

If you like to take walks in nature or maybe down the river you’ve probably noticed there’s a lot of driftwood there. It’s an excellent place to go gather some. You can use those natural treasures for all sorts of DIY projects. If you have pets you can make something original for them or can use the driftwood to make something useful for your home. This is a hanger made from such a piece of material.

Now let’s see which are the steps that need to be taken in order to create a similar item. First you have to gather the materials. You’ll need a piece of driftwood or a branch. The shape and size are yours to determine. You’ll also need masking tape, paints and paintbrushes, picture hangers, screw-in hooks, a hammer and pliers. Start by cleaning the wood. If you want to create the same design as in the pictures, you’ll then need to use masking tape to create stripes.

Then decide on the colors you want to use and paint the first stripes. Let them dry completely and carefully remove the tape. Repeat the process and paint some more stripes. You can use different colors or maybe just a two-color combination. Let all the stripes dry and then find the side of the wood that’s flattest. This will be the side that goes against the wall. Using a hammer, insert one or two picture hangers, depending on the dimensions of the wood you have chosen and the weight of the objects that you’ll hang on it. Then decide where you want the hooks to be placed and screw them into the wood. You can use pliers if necessary. Now all you have to do is take the wood and put it on the wall. Now you have a personalized and original place to hang your coat, bag, keys, etc.The full project can be found on lovelyindeed.
