Coolest GardenRug

When you’re living in an apartment or in a residence in the middle of the city it’s often difficult to get to spend time outdoors. You miss nature and you wish you could find a way to bring a piece of it in your home so that you can always enjoy it. You could try to recreate certain images from nature or you could actually bring a piece of greenery into your home. How? With the GardenRug, of course.

The Garden Rug was created by London-based designer Pia Wustenberg and it’s a very creative and ingenious accessory for the home. The designer found a way to transform this common, almost monotonous object into a unique accessory. The Garden Rug is basically an indoor lawn. It’s an ingenious solution for those that miss nature and lack a plot of grass to stretch out on. For them, the designer created this DIY kit.

The rug can be watered, raised and it’s made from a felt-like organic material that favors the germination of mossy green plants. The plants grow in spiraling floral patterns. It resembles a cozy, puffy floor pillow. The rug is very pleasant to the touch and allows you to sink your feet into the grass and get that unique feeling that nothing else can replace. And if you liked this project, you’ll be happy to know that Pia Wustenberg also has other similar surprises for you such as plant-rearing furniture and herb-growing shelves, all creations that focus on comfort and on the idea of introducing nature into out homes.
