Contemporary Single-Family Vila Castela Residence

Vila Castela Residence is a contemporary single-family home and it’s located in Nova Lima, a city in the Minas Gerais state of Brazil. The residence was designed by Brazilian studio Anastasia Architects. It was built in a slope site that was kept as natural as possible. The ground level of the residence was placed 7 meters below the street. On the east side the house features glass walls. Since this side is opposite to the street, privacy is not a problem. Moreover, the glass walls allow for beautiful views over the forest.

Since the climate in that region is very friendly, there’s no need for artificial heating. The doors and windows are right oriented and on the roof solar voltaic cells have been placed. The residence sits on 650 sq meters and this space has been divided into three floors. The basement level is an entertainment area where the owners can enjoy leisure facilities such as sauna, Jacuzzi, and an wine cellar.

The ground floors includes the living area and the kitchen that are linked to the outdoor swimming pool and the external terrace. On the first floor the private rooms of the house were located, such as the bedrooms.
