Columbia Armchair from Nellavetrina

Columbia Armchair is a piece of furniture from Gran Tour Collection of Nellavetrina. The armchair is a luxury seating in grey fabric with the base in chromed steel.Made in Italy, the seating was inspired by first class travel and the world of luxury automobiles. But I actually thought it looked more like half of a coconut when I first saw it. Nevertheless, the design is pretty eye-catchy and stylish, not to mention the obvious comfort offered by this armchair. The person who sits on it is “nested” there as comfortable as possible, resting on the soft cushion like in a kind embrace. The base, the metallic support is a bit unusual, but I guess the shape can be explained by the source of inspiration: automobile seating.

In this case it is totally understandable why the armchair has no legs and why the support seams to be ready to get fixed into or onto something. But the fact that it is metallic also allows the chair to lean back and force due to its elasticity and to recover its initial position after the person gets out of it.
