Colorful IKEA dresser makeover by O’verlays

IKEA furniture is very popular and almost every home has at least one piece from their collection. Still, some people would rather hack those designs or change them to make them more suitable to their preferences. This is one of those cases. This lovely but extremely plain Trondheim dresser has been redesigned and got a whole new face thanks to O’verlays.

The original dresser has a nice construction but the design was very simple and plain. It had to accent elements and nothing about it was visually alluring. Some people might like that but the majority of us need at least something to catch our eye when looking at a particular piece of furniture. The dresser got a fresh new look, much more colorful and fun.

It was transformed using lightweight, fretwork panels and paint. O’verlays created an extensive collection, a whole line of designs to choose from and they can all be seen on their website. As you can see in the case of this dresser, the change is not extremely dramatic. The structure of the furniture is not affected. It only gets a new look and some new accent elements, usually new colors as well. You can browse through the designs and maybe recreate the ones you like or you can also come up with your own.{found on thedesignpages and apartmenttherapy}
