Charming Queen Anne Mid-Modern House in Seattle

There are so many architects in the world that made remarkable things for which they became very famous. One of them is called Paul Hayden Kirk, one of Seattle’s much appreciated architects. He designed all sorts of buildings like: the Intiman Theatre building and Exhibition Hall at Seattle Center; Balmer, Haggett, Meany and McMahon halls at the University of Washington; and UW’s Odegaard Undergraduate Library.

Another important project was the design of the house at 2711 First on Seattle’s Queen Anne Hill. It is a house which was renovated by Coop15 Architecture as the owners wanted a bigger hose with more space for family activities.

The beauty and the features that characterize this house are the shingled walls for the exterior of the house and the cedar clad walls and ceilings used inside. Some of these features were changed but the original design was kept. The lower level was enlarged was expanded and another bedroom has appeared. Here you may also see the media room and the home office.Coop 15 Architecture tried to bring more light and space here so more glass was added and some of the cedar walls were replaced with gypsum wallboard. Natural wood and the classic combination of white and black appears everywhere in the house.
