Ambient Lighting Solution for Your Workstation

The doctors do not necessarily need to tell you that constant time spent on your computer is harmful for your eyes as it is something which the world knows. Constant seating on the workstation means that your eyes will definitely be strained at the end of the day and you therefore need to think about alternatives that lesser the strain. One great alternative is to use LEDs to surround your workstation with ambient light. The ideal positioning of the lights should be behind the monitor or the screen as that helps reduce the strain in a considerable way.

Some inspiration can be drawn from Kevin Freitas and what he has done with his Vika Lauri table from IKEA. Kevin affixed a string of white or multi-colored Dioder LED lights from IKEA in the metal lip using sticky tape.  This can really save your eyes and the added advantage is a chick looking working station.

The Molly Desk by British Designer Toby Howes

We are so used to admiring contemporary furniture elements that an older style trait is something we tend to ignore. The Molly Desk by British designer Toby Howes however has a different story to tell. His furniture creation offers a vivid dichotomy by using contrasting elements to give form to this desk.

He chooses straight lines and curves together and then he pitches the light against the dark. He uses the contrasting effect of intricate construction with simple style and luxurious materials with sparse design.  The consequence is the Molly Desk that combines a light suspended-in-air feel with the utilitarianism of the 1950s. Toby was inspired to finish this desk in such a manner after meeting a client at the t The Celebration of Craftsmanship & Design Exhibition. The client was passionate about the furniture of the 1950s.

Colorful LOL kids office furniture

For those who are locking to invest in furniture for your kids, there are a few things to keep in mind: durability, adaptability and fun. Kids love the colorful furniture and playful. The LOL kids furniture collection was designed to create a playful area for kids by Benoit Maltier.

Kids usually like the same things: colors, fun shapes and features, playful pieces and interesting and fun patterns. So their rooms are probably the most difficult to decorate. The parents need to be sure that the room is safe and child-friendly, with functional and easy to use pieces and with a beautiful theme. And the kids just want it to be pretty.
